FESTIVAL OF PORSCHE

PHOTOGRAPHY | TOM HORNA

TEXT | TOM HORNA

The Festival of Porsche at Brands Hatch coincided with the 40th anniversary of the 911 Turbo. Hosted by Porsche Club GB and featuring racing, displays and parades of both classic and modern Porsches. Apart from on-track action visitors were able to see the most iconic classics as well as Le Mans racers. Beautiful 356s, glorious 911 GT1s and a whole lot of Turbos from 50s to present day. Year 2014 was a big year for the German brand as they have also returned to Le Mans with their LMP1 class vehicles.

But let's not forget the big personalities that also visited the grounds of Brands Hatch during the event. Derek Bell, Le Mans winner as well as Richard Attwood, both former Porsche works drivers. The main bit for us however was the grand finale to the national contest set out by Porsche GB that challenged Porsche centres to undertake a Classic Restoration project. Due to the fact that 2014 was the year of new Targa models launch as well as the 911 Turbo 40th celebration the guidelines were strict; only Turbos or Targas allowed.

Below you'll find part coverage of the event. For full coverage go to our photo blog here.
